Sign-up Sheets for Fall T&D

The sign-up Sheets for the Fall T&D teams have been posted on the bulletin boards in the hall outside the courts. Get your name on a team now and start warming up for the new season. Round robins will start early in September.

Note that there are sign-ups for the NEW Doubles Squash Inter club teams as well. Be among the first to represent our club in the Toronto Doubles League.

Doubles Courts progress

The doubles courts are progressing nicely and it is expected that they will be playable by the end of August. The official opening of the courts will happen at the open house on September 19th. Put it on your calendar and plan to be there.

Carrying a Torch For Pickering

Long time member of the PSC, Mike Garvey, will have the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch as it passes through Durham on it's way to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

What's going on at the courts

Although club activities have slowed down for the summer, there is still lots happening at the courts. Summer squash leagues are going on. You can watch great action most evenings.

The courts are also a great place to get away from the heat. Bookings are available almost any time.

Remember, Squash is not just a summer vegetable!

Spring House League is half way through it's season and the competition is fierce. The Dandilions and Sunflowers are tied for first and the Daffodils and Petunias are right on their tails tied for third.

Congratulatons to Pickering "E2" or the E-Squash League
Friday evening the team won the Consolation round over Crescent Town by a score of 15 to 5. Way to go.

Congratulations to both of our
Black Knight "E" League Teams.

Pickering "E1" won their semi-final Match against Glendon Collage. They tied at 10/10 in games and it came down to a win in points. Pickering "E1" will play against Bomanville at Parkview on April 17th 7:20 PM

Pickering "E2" won their consolation semi-final against TAC and will play Cresent Town at Parkview on April 17th 7:20 PM in the consolation final.

Men's Black Knight "E" League

On Friday April 3rd Pickering "E1" will play against Glendon at Glendon in the Semi-Finals.

The other Semi-Final match will see Fitness Institute Mississauga against Bomanville.

In the Consolation Round, Pickering "E2" are set to play Toronto Athletic at home. Date to be announced.

The Finals will be played on April 17th at Parkview Club.

Congratulations to our Masters "A" T&D Team

On Thursday evening they beat TCS&CC by a score of 5 to 0. This puts them into the finals to be played at Mayfair Lakeshore on Wednesday April 1st.

Congratulations to our Men's "E1" Black Knight Men's League

On Friday evening they beat Glenway Country Club in the quarter finals by a score of 15 to 5. The Men's "E1" team goes on to play the semi-finals on Friday April 3rd. This will be against either Glendon or Parkview 1. Place TBA.

Our Womens "C" T&D Team ended the season in third place and will be playing the semi finals away at Georgetown on Tuesday March 31st.

A message from Nicole, our Squash Pro

Hi Everyone,

Here are some upcoming events at the Pickering Squash Club...


Pickering Squash Club Banquet


This is a night you will not want to miss!  This years Squash Club banquet will be on Sat. April 25th at 7:00pm.  We will be celebrating a successful season at the Frenchman's Bay Yacht Club.  Tickets are $20 and include a buffet dinner, DJ, dancing and lots of prizes.  You can contact me to purchase your tickets or for more information.




This years Club Championship tournament runs Monday April 20th - Saturday April 25th. Matches will be scheduled after 5:30pm Monday - Friday and the finals will be played on Saturday April 25th.  The sign up sheet is posted on the board across from court 4.  There is no fee to participate but you must be a member of the Pickering Squash Club.  If there is a conflict with your scheduled time it is up to you to contact your opponent and reschedule before the next scheduled match.  Sign up deadline is Friday April 10th.




I will be running a summer house league on Wednesday's starting Wednesday April 29th.  Limited spots available.  Keep your eyes on the sign up board across from court 4 for the sign-up sheet.

Winter House League sees Brussel Sprouts come to the top of the garden.

Congratuations to the Brussel Sprouts who soundly defended their first place position and won the Winter House League Finals.

Upset in Standings in Last Day of the
Winter League Season

After a hard fought season seeing three teams (The Brussels Sprouts, The Broccolis and The Zucchinis) dominate the top two playoff spots, a rogue team (The Cabbages) snuck in to take the coveted second place leaving the Broccolis and the Zucchinis out in the cold.

On Sunday March 22nd at 12:00 noon, The Brussels Sprouts and the Cabbages will battle it out for the Winter House League Championship.

Pickering Women's C will finish in second or third place depending on the outcome of a rescheduled game between two other teams. If Pickering stays in 2nd place the play Semi-Finals Pickering vs 3rd place(TBD) at Pickering otherwise they play away at the second place home courts.



2009 Canadian Doubles Squash Championships. - Vancouver BC.

The Canadian Doubles Squash Championships is the premier competitive opportunity for doubles players from across the country. It recognizes the best doubles players in Canada in an event which celebrates the bright future and proud past of the game.

This event is happening this weekend in Vancouver. It is a good example of what we could be hosting once our courts are ready.

The House league results have been updated as of March 8th games.

The Brussel Sprouts continue their dominance and take a 5 point lead over the Zuccinis while the Broccolis drop to third place, one point behind.

Everyone needs to be out to play this coming weekend. Every point counts in the last week of regular play.

The Brussel Sprouts have vaulted into first place over Broccoli who are now tied in second with the Zuccinis. Only 2 points separates the top three.

In the menu bar above you will see a new link to the "MEMBERS FORUM". You now have a place to ask questions, get answers and discuss things of interest to you and your fellow Squash Club members.

You will need to register to use the forum. Simply click on "SIGN UP" at the top of the forum home page. Once you are signed up you can Add a Topic or contribute to a topic already under discussion.

If you would like to moderate a discussion board on the forum, please feel free to contact Terry Bruce or any member of the executive.

We look forward to some great discussions or even just a new way to find a squash partner in the club.
